Case No. 01 · Harbor crane
Modernization of a 12-ton harbor crane
Replacement of obsolete Mannesmann converters with Emotron, STEP 7 adaptation and crane commissioning.
Task
Obsolete Mannesmann frequency drives were still in use on the harbor crane. The technology was no longer supported by the manufacturer, spare parts were unavailable, and in the event of a fault the crane could have been out of service for an undefined period of time.
